Brightly colored bands of raffia adorn each handwoven AAKS bag. Through the creation of each bag, AAKS is creating valuable, sustainable jobs for Ghanaian women, who use traditional African heritage weaving techniques that are passed down through generations. Each bag is woven with sustainably sourced natural raffia and straw from farmers in Ghana and accented with leather. AAKS’ incredible array of colors are achieved with natural dyes. The weaving process is labor intensive and meticulous, taking at least a week to create each bag. AAKS is a women owned and POC owned brand and pays all their artisan makers fair living wages.
