The Strata tote is hand woven from sisal fiber by rural Kenyan women, then finished with soft leather handles. Sisal grows well in the semi-arid climate of eastern Kenya, and its spiky leaves contain long fibers that can be extracted for weaving. Rural Kamba women excel at weaving the tough fiber into stylish accessories prized around the world.

*By law, containers shipped from Africa are fumigated. Other than the fumigation process, the fibers are not treated with any other chemicals.
