The Half Moon Rug was hand knotted, which means each yarn has been tied individually by hand. Hand knotting is a skillful and laborious process, but the result is an incredibly soft and long-lasting tapestry.
From a far, the Half Moon rug looks to be a solid color, but its shag is made of a tri-color blend. This, combined with the shadows that the shag produces create deep color complexity.
