We love to travel and travel brings us all the inspiration we need. It's not just what is in front of you, but it's also how you see it.  We've seen and been inspired by the lovely old architecture that has been thankfully still standing (not fallen during wars or natural disasters). And what draws us most in that are the doors and windows - those entry ways - that are still welcoming everyone. This scarf was inspired by one of those doors that we come across on the travels. It's green as in forever young and it's saying, "Come In".

  • hand printed using carved wooden blocks
  • hand dyed in natural dyes
  • color: green

Ichcha doesn’t just create a line of beautiful home products, they also work to greatly improve the lives of their women artisan partners in India and to promote the heritage craft of block printing, hand weaving, and hand embroidery. Ichcha is committed to having a minimal impact on the planet by only working with natural vegetable dyes made from flowers, leaves, minerals, trees, and bark. This ensures their products are safe for their artisans, consumers, and the earth. Ichcha’s handwoven fabrics are made from chemical-free cotton, handspun, and intricately woven on nomadic looms.

Through partnerships with NGOs, Ichcha’s artisans are taught both Hindi and English, and receive medical checkups for themselves and their families. Ichcha’s artisans also set their own prices. Each piece is designed in New York by the three sisters who run Ichcha and are handcrafted by women artisans in rural communities all across India.
