Each pair is hand-embroidered by refugee and low-income women artisans with traditional Palestinian tatreez motifs and then handcrafted with locally sourced leather in Al Khalil (Hebron).

Darzah is a non-profit, ethical fashion brand specializing in Palestinian "tatreez" embroidery, a centuries-old art form, traditionally passed down from mother to daughter. Each piece is fair trade certified, hand-embroidered and handcrafted in Palestine’s West Bank. Darzah’s mission is to create economic opportunities for refugee and low-income women artisans and to celebrate tatreez embroidery and Palestinian cultural heritage. The word “darzah” means "stitch" in Arabic.

Darzah is a women-run 501(c)3 non-profit social enterprise based in Dallas, Texas and the West Bank.

Our Fair Trade international brand partners work with makers and artisans outside the US and are committed to paying living wages, providing safe and healthy working conditions, sourcing materials local to their region wherever possible, and implementing eco-friendly practices across their manufacturing processes.
Heritage
