Manta Shima Maillot

$165

Style. Comfort. Function.

The Shima Maillot is our deepest dive into the search for the place where fashion meets the sea. Taking cues from the legendary Ama Divers in the Sea of Japan, the Shima is the height of eco-luxe.

Contoured seams create support for a wide range of body shapes. Wide adjustable straps that cross at the back are super comfortable and do not dig into the skin. We are obsessed with this suit!

Designed from hand sketches, all MANTA’s swimsuits are made from recycled nylon from abandoned fishing nets that have been removed from the open ocean. Every piece is constructed carefully and thoughtfully. MANTA considers each and every detail in the production process, the packaging, fabric trims, etc. all with the goal to obsessively avoid plastic.

MANTA is a USA made product line made with sustainably sourced materials. They pay fair wages to all makers involved in each step of their production, treating each person with respect and dignity. MANTA is a women-run and women-owned business based in Miami, Florida.

Sustainable
Our sustainable brand partners are committed to responsible sourcing and intentional design that creates minimal negative environmental impact. Some of their methods may include sustainably harvesting raw materials, upcycling/recycling used materials (such as plastic or dead stock fabrics), or using all natural, earth-friendly materials (such as plant and mineral-based dyes).
USA Made
At Made Trade it's not enough for a product to just be "USA made" it must also adhere to responsible sourcing of materials used and fair treatment of the person who created it. We curate USA made brands who: pay fair, living wages to their makers, provide safe and healthy working conditions, source materials locally wherever possible, prioritize sustainable growth for their business, and implement eco-friendly practices.
Vegan
Vegan products on Made Trade contain no animal products or byproducts. We curate vegan brands who source natural materials as sustainably as possible, do not use polyurethane or other synthetic faux leather materials (instead use plant-based faux leathers, such as Piñatex or mushroom leather) and implement fair business practices with their suppliers and their employees.
