Meet the maker Silk Road Bazaar
Silk Road Bazaar’s artisans in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan make the world’s cutest fair trade baby booties and slippers. While cute and playful elephants, dalmatians, and strawberries adorn the outside of these adorable children’s products, each piece is also a celebration of the traditional handcrafting techniques of the Kyrgyz people. Locally sourced and sustainably harvested, their artisans take natural wool and felt and hand-stitch them into children’s booties. Their artisans handcraft each piece with little to no electricity. Silk Road Bazaar is fair trade certified and pays living wages to all their artisans and makers.
