Why Organic Cotton Sheets?

Cotton is a bit of a miracle fiber. The same fiber that makes rugged denim is also responsible for plush, absorbent terry cloth and smooth, drapey chiffon. In bedding, though, cotton is typically presented in a few familiar fabrics: flannel, jersey, linen, sateen, and percale, to name a few. 

Organic cotton is cotton that has been grown without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers, and does not come from genetically modified cotton seeds. But the way the cotton is grown isn’t the only thing that makes it organic. Organic cotton sheets with GOTS or Oeko-Tex certification like the ones we feature in our marketplace have also not been exposed to harmful chemicals or practices during the manufacturing or dying process.
