Shicato Manta Nativa en Azul Blanket

ONE SIZE - 200 x 235 cm
HANDWASH in cool water. Air dry. Low setting on dryer for 10 minutes for maximum fluffiness.
DRY CLEAN is always a recommended option.
MADE IN ECUADOR
The native blanket is hand-woven with pure alpaca wool mixed with cotton, for greater resistance.
The plaid is reversible and has different prints on both sides. We chose a colorful front, and a back in quiet pastel colors.
Shicato employs and empowers female artisans in Ecuador to create gorgeous, eco-friendly jewelry and accessories from sustainably sourced materials like tagua seeds, alpaca wool, and toquilla straw. The tagua seeds used in Shicato’s jewelry are both sustainable and zero waste. The tagua seed is harvested when it naturally falls to the ground inside a fruit that resembles a pineapple. The seeds are harvested from the fruit and placed in the sun for several weeks to dry. During this curing process, the tagua seed’s inside turns white and develops a hardness similar to ivory. Shicato’s artisan collective then carve the tagua seed into their incredible unique jewelry.
Shicato is a women-run and women-owned business. All artisans creating Shicato’s heritage crafts all set their own prices.
