CANO’s ethically made and transparently produced shoes are expertly handcrafted by artisans in Mexico using a centuries-old technique. Each shoe is made with the highest-quality, vegetable-tanned, certified chromium-free leather from Mexican leather tanneries adhering to the highest environmental standards. CANO uses both a biodegradable natural rubber crepe sole as well as outsoles made from upcycled airplane tires across their line. CANO is committed to full transparency and collects robust data throughout their supply chain so they can accurately assess and manage their company’s impact on the environment. Their close partnership with two family-owned shoe manufacturing facilities in Mexico ensures each artisan who makes their shoes is paid a fair living wage, regardless of gender, and is provided safe working conditions with shifts no longer than 8 hours.
